Very rarely do I run into an issue with people and music but I did this time at this #Corporate Party. I was given genres but no playlist. When you have people with specific tastes it’s very difficult to accomidate them. In this case this group was unpleasable. They hit the dj list of things not tell the Dj pretty hard. It’s started with someone coming up to me and saying someone will never hire you so there’s no need to put your sign, or cards out. I wasn’t allowed to grab water or food on a brutally hot day. The owner of the company touched my equipment when i went to grab a drink. Another thing you don’t want to tell a Dj when your in the process of appoligizing is i have more experience than you, which was not the case. The reasons i ask for lists is for this very reason as customizing the party IS the only way to go. David Guetta & Afrojack ft. I felt like a race car driver on my way back from Wainscott to Southampton to Dj this #birthday party. I arrived at 8pm and i had music up at 8:30pm. Definitely one of the fastest setups in Hamptons Dj history. It was nice to have 30 minutes to just chill out before i started to get this party going. No list, I had genre’s but as you can see by this list. I was jukeboxing it. Didn’t really get into a rhythm as requests were all over the place. Owner was very happy with the music, and they were a fun group with a eclectic taste of music. As you can see with list below , I was all over the place with this one. Great place for a party, at a private house on Piedmont Street in Southampton. I shot some facebook live but it got deleted due to new infringement lol. I haven’t played at the beach since my college days when I used to play the intro to Summer Party at College. But at Coopers I had power, tonight I was relying on a generator. I was neverous. I brought my friend Sam with me to help get my equipment on and off the beach. We weren’t allowed to drive on the beach to setup so it took us awhile to get everything up and going. Missing stakes out of my tent bag meant we had to mount pieces of wood in the sand so the tent wouldn’t fly away. After the chaos, my worries were gone and I was able to concentrate and doing what I do best. Playing music and getting people to dance. Based on the correspondence , and planning i knew Lauren’s #graduation party was going to be memorable. I arrived via the red carpet through the gates. The theme was hollywood because Lauren was attending college somewhere in California. Everyone was looking good dressed up and ready to party. Our setup looked a little different. This #wedding lead came from thumbtack. I had a great feeling about this event from the beginning . I went to the house that they were having the event prior as an extended courtesy. Danielle & Macias did an excellent job with the planning and picking out the right music. The event began at 7:00pm. The dance floor was packed the entire night. We took requests and it was just a fun night overall. I had enough rope to add my touch . I hope to play for them again soon, just fun energetic friends & family. It was an honor to be apart of their celebration and I know I exceeded their expectations. I got a text from my friend Cathy as she was looking for someone to play for one of her clients Brent #Birthday. They asked me to create a “nikki beach” sunday.
