Fowler beach Party #southampton 7/22/16

I haven’t played at the beach since my college days when I used to play the intro to Summer Party at College. But at Coopers I had power, tonight I was relying on a generator. I was neverous. I brought my friend Sam with me to help get my equipment on and off the beach. We weren’t allowed to drive on the beach to setup so it took us awhile to get everything up and going. Missing stakes out of my tent bag meant we had to mount pieces of wood in the sand so the tent wouldn’t fly away. After the chaos, my worries were gone and I was able to concentrate and doing what I do best. Playing music and getting people to dance. Finally got a #Sweet 16 from my buddy Sam ha ha. I acted quickly and took a ride out to Bridgehampton to sit down and meet with Barbara and her family. They were very nice and super sweet (Pun Intended) . I was very prepared with everything , Barbara gave me a great list of songs and on the July 9th did it. Arrived at Elks at about 3pm for setup. I was very impressed with the decorations and some of the uplights they had. Very different from when I was last there. I got to see Yoshii who was there to do this photo booth called the magic mirror. Pretty interesting concept. We played this list of songs. The professor was back and as you can see by the pictures he was goofing around but it was good to have him back. His glasses got ripped from a couple of parties ago. He was rocking his band aid lol. Music was mostly EDM, played some pop, and during cleanup we took it back to some of the first club songs that came out of my speakers Grace ft. Ok, past is the past time to hit the stage and do what i do , Be the Center of Long Island Entertainment. I’ll tell you i really enjoy being on the stage behind a very powerful sound system. I really had a great time on stage promoting what i do Hamptons Dj, Long Island Dj School, Djdealeyo. Every 15 or so minutes lol. Gets redundant but i did it different every time. It’s not often that I make house calls to visit with clients however i made the exception and i’m really glad I did. They were very friendly and French and I could tell immediately that this was going to be a fun party to do and i was spot on. Start time got pushed back an hour due to some rain showers. I came prepared with my ez tent as I didn’t have to setup or clean up in the rain. It rained almost the entire party but the guests were committed to having a good time. I get nervous because i’ve seen parties die because of rain. The music was cranking , the drinks were flowing and people were there for the duration and I was really happy for Francois as he was really enjoying himself the entire time BIG SMILES We started off with some current pop. Boat Birthday Party in Sag Harbor 8/9/14 I received a call about a week and half ago to play at a 40th birthday party on a boat. I was really excited about the opportunity. A week of thoughts raised a couple of concerns that I wasn’t able to answer. They told me they had an on board speaker system so i was heavily banking on being able to use it. When I got on the boat I shook my head and was curious on where I was going to setup . An enthusiastic crew said they would take care of it. I got an idea to setup on a side table and to sit on one of the seats of the couch. So I setup the laptop with the mixtrack in the case with headphones, and i used the internal sound card with the mic output. Setup below . It’s very strange that they don’t allow boats to dock for long in Sag Harbor. We had to turn back for one guest who arrived late. I had sound up quickly after waiting for the guests settled in. I started with Classic Rock, then i went to some current Pop music. The boat stopped at Crabby Jerry’s in Greenport so I had an hour break. I wish I would have gotten off the boat and eaten something. My adrenaline kicked in and I wasn’t hungry until I was done. Gotta love Summer. We got the boat back going again and went on with some dance, electro house, hiphop and we threw it back a bit with some old classics. I wanted to play Rock the boat by Bob Sinclair so i dropped that towards the middle. Birthday Party for Fadi Zaya Birthday parties are great in the summer time.I was really looking forward to this birthday party for multiple reasons. The kind of music, and people renting the house for the weekend. It’s usually a great combination for a great party and I knew it. When i found out that it was his 29th birthday i knew I was in for a great night. It took us awhile to decide where I was going to be but i settled on a place in the corner overlooking the pool and spa. Guests arrived and the bar was flowing and the music was cranking. Fadi provided me with a great selection of songs and I build the party pop, hip hop, rnb, house, electro, and dance music the entire night. I went back and forth between hip hop and house, and i was really in a great zone. I didn’t make a mistake all night. I felt confident with every music selection I played. I even got to drop a little old school bad boy from the 90s. It was such a great night. Friendly beautiful people liquor and music. It was really the perfect night. Silo Fundraiser in Ronkonkoma I was approached late to do a fundraiser in Ronkonkoma for Silo. It’s been a crazy week. As many of you may know Long Island Dj School was honored in a article in Newsday (read here) this week which led to flood of messages on my facebook page and many phone calls. It was really nice to get the attention this week. As a result of that attention , I got to play four hours fundraiser for Silo Ronkonkoma. Back to do another fundraiser for our friend Joseph Holmes who had some unfortunate health problems related to renting a building for his business. When i heard the story I said yes immediately. Knowing what i know about the North Sea Fire Department and their extended community i knew that this was a cause i wanted to be involved with. There was a great turnout, which resulted in a great raffle and much needed money to support the cause. I forgot to take a picture but i was up on top of a double edge flat bed, i got to take some pictures from up high. If you were stuck in traffic, i’m sorry.
