Last minute booking as I got the call from Lisa, and received contract & payment just it time. I saw my good friends at Hampton Clambake and Catering as I walked in , and knew where the lead came from. It’s good to see my former employers who do amazing work. It was a hot sweaty day. I tried to move my setup at the corner without success. As soon as I got the tent up the party was on. We were planned to go five hours, ended up going 8. It was a long day, and It was tiring but they were really low maintenance with the music. Came up with a good mix of new stuff, and old . Dogged some mosquitos. Had some audio issues with microphones, and we lost a mixer due to a surge in the electric at the pool equipment. A good day and a good money maker. I had a very busy week preparing for two parties including this #Corporate Party. When the skies cleared Paul was in Bridgehampton , and we found Chris to cover in the city. The surprise was a rental on Friday where i had to rescue a Dj in Wainscott who’s mixer went. I wasn’t happy missing poker but it was good to put some extra dough in my pocket. While in the parking lot , I had a run in with a police officer who thought it was ok to park behind me as I was backing out. Setup on time, we were poolside in Bridgehampton under gorgeous skies. We played through a list that included popular , some edm, but mostly urban. The guests provided me great energy and requests . A great atmosphere to do what I do best play music and mix it together. My performances are memorable. Even the professor was doing what he does trying to get on instagram. A Saturday #birthday party in Montauk. A rainy morning had some of us running rampid. The rain was on an off on my 2 hour ride out to Montauk. I believed the sun was going to come out and i don’t look at the weather at all. The sun was peaking through as I starred at the sky every time i had a chance while stuck in traffic starting in Watermill. When i pulled in the driveway the sky got bright. I smiled and was ready to rock. It was very humid, probably lost a few pounds during my setup. Got the tent up and the rest of everything at it was time to play. The acoustics were amazing. If you ever played on a cliff over looking the water as I have several times. The sound just explodes. The challenge is to make sure your the niebors are happy. I had to move the speakers a few times but I finally got it right. I had a great music list to work with of mostly urban, and some house, and some oldies. The event was catered by Boswicks and we had Mirror Me NYC out do the photo booth. Kudos to Laureen and Gab’s dad for doing an amazing job. They were really a great fun group to work with. I was well prepared and delivered an amazing show Didn’t have a chance to shoot video but i took some pictures. The #party was on. I had to setup my equipment early to do a prior commitment. When I arrived, i introduced myself asked what kind of music that I needed to play because I wasn’t given any info. Obviously the music tastes they had were something I wasn’t prepared for. It happens every once in awhile. So I played some mixes from Budda Bar as requested, and dinner music from Gypsy Kings. Took them awhile to sit down .I did some latin and some current pop after that . Not sure the clients knew what kind of music so they wanted and they weren’t able to verbalize it. Very rarely do I run into an issue with people and music but I did this time at this #Corporate Party. I was given genres but no playlist. When you have people with specific tastes it’s very difficult to accomidate them. In this case this group was unpleasable. They hit the dj list of things not tell the Dj pretty hard. It’s started with someone coming up to me and saying someone will never hire you so there’s no need to put your sign, or cards out. I wasn’t allowed to grab water or food on a brutally hot day. The owner of the company touched my equipment when i went to grab a drink. Another thing you don’t want to tell a Dj when your in the process of appoligizing is i have more experience than you, which was not the case. The reasons i ask for lists is for this very reason as customizing the party IS the only way to go. David Guetta & Afrojack ft.
